Some New Winter Seattle Art

Top to Bottom:
1.   Pen & Ink and Watercolor portrait of sulky grandson Cole Taylor.  His nose is too long in the painting, as can be seen from the photo below it.  That might have been because we were reading the book Pinocchio!  Cole was not as willing to pose as his twin brother so this is the only time I had to paint him.
2.  Watercolor painting of Wilson, which doesn't do him justice, as can be seen from the photo of him above the artwork.
3.  Pen & Ink and watercolor and pastel pencil portrait of Wilson in his sport shirt.  He looks a bit like a Nazi youth in this picture, which Wilson said was "creepy."  It does not look much like the photo of Wilson above the art, holding up the world with his dyed red Mohawk hairdo.
4.  An Abstract, inspired by going to Discovery Park in Seattle, one of my favorite places to hike
5.  A Memory Abstract of my week in Seattle ends the tableau.

I Think I Look A Lot Like My Mother

Based on this portrait of me (top) by 6-yr-old Wilson Taylor, painted this December, as compared to the portrait he did of my mother (bottom) done on Thanksgiving last year.

My Idea of Heaven

Doing artwork with twin grandsons!
Top to Bottom
1.  Cole Taylor's self portrait
2.  Wilson Taylor's graffiti on my ink and watercolor painting of the kitchen nook window and wall
3.  Wilson's portrait of me.  He wanted to make sure he got all my neck wrinkles in!
4.  Cole's original shark painting - soon to be made into a new T Shirt for him.
5.  My attempt to capture Wilson, wearing the roadrunner applique T shirt I made.  Close but no cigar.
6.  The real Wilson, wearing a different T shirt.

Wilson Taylor and Grandma Lucy Art

Artwork by Wilson (one week shy of his 5th birthday), created on his own and with his grandma Lucy in Seattle, July 2014, is better than any of the art Lucy saw at museums and galleries in Seattle on her last trip. Top to bottom:
1.  Cole and Wilson: pen & ink and colored pencil on brown craft paper 9x12.  Cole did add some color to this one, but generally he was happiest putting together exotic Lego sculptures.
2.  Garden:  pen & ink and colored pencil on pink craft paper.
3.  Grandma and Me:  pen & ink and marker on pink craft paper.
4.  Raindrops and Rainbows:  Watercolor and ink 6x9
5.  Rainbow:  Crayon on plain paper 8 1/2 x 11
6.  Eclectic:  (includes art by Wilson's dad Matt Taylor on yellow stick-its + an elephant) and a pen & ink rooted flower by Grandma Lucy

More Portraits, Christmas Card Art and some Amber Art

More discoveries, cleaning out E.A. Autrey's condo.  The fact my father kept every sketch I did of him, and every self portrait I did of myself and sent him as a Christmas card, is quite wonderful.  Discovered art includes the following top to bottom:
1.  Pastel portrait of E.A. I did in 1985
2.  Old ink and pastel sketch done in 1995, including some heads drawn by Jean L. Autrey.  Although this is not a new discovery, as the image was previously published, I now have the original!
3.  Conte crayon sketch of E.A. I did in 2003
4.  Self portrait sent as a Christmas card in 1981
5.  Self portrait sent as a Christmas card in 1987
6.  Bad self portrait as "The Camellia Queen" send as a Christmas card in 1985
7.  Fabulous self portrait of Amber as "The Dahlia Queen," done by Amber on the back of "The Camellia Queen"
8.  Close up of a terrific drawing done by Amber in 1985.  What a talent!  I wish she'd do more art.
